Support Coach Robert’s
Road to Recovery
3/20/25 Update:
We are 20% of the way in meeting our goal of $7,800, thank you for your support & let's try complete our goal by April 1st!

For years, Coach Robert Bartle has been the heart of the Traverse City Fencing Club. As a founder and long-time coach, he has dedicated countless hours to training, mentoring, and inspiring fencers of all ages. Now, he needs our help.

On February 5th, Coach Robert suffered a devastating skiing accident, shattering his tibia. After multiple surgeries, he is finally home, but his road to recovery is long. For at least 12 weeks, he won’t be able to put weight on his leg, and doctors anticipate that it will be at least six months before he can return to work.
Coach Robert has always been there for us—pushing us to be our best, supporting us in competition, and building a community that feels like family. Now, it's our turn to be there for him.
The Traverse City Fencing Club is launching a fundraising effort to cover Coach Robert’s rent and utilities for the next six months so he can focus entirely on healing. Our goal is to raise $7,800, and we’re asking for your support.
